PROTEST ERUPTS AGAINST UK CHILD RAPIST IN SYLHET

Sylhet witnessed a heated protest yesterday against a man referred to as Md Rashel Ali, whom protesters claim is a criminal sentenced in the U.K. for raping an underage Bangladeshi child in the U.K.

Local Imams have condemned Rashel Ali, issuing a public Fatwa calling for his punishment for what they describe as both a heinous crime and an act that tarnishes the reputation of Islam. The protestors expressed their outrage, vowing to "emasculate" the alleged child rapist should he return to Bangladesh. According to them, individuals like Mr Rashel Ali pose a threat to the safety of their daughters, and they insist that he must be punished in Bangladesh also as a deterrent to others.

Despite the anger, local Imams have urged the protesters not to harm Rashel Ali’s family in Bangladesh, as they are innocent and already bear the burden of his alleged crimes. The Fatwa, however, remains in force, with the local clerics reiterating that Rashel Ali should face justice under Islamic law for such offenses.

The protest has drawn significant attention, reflecting the community’s determination to safeguard their children and religious values.
