Jalal Younus gave Shakib Al Hasan two days to think. Even after the end of that time, the head of BCB's cricket operations committee did not receive a call, so he himself contacted this all-rounder.
In a phone conversation, Shakib said that he does not want to visit South Africa due to physical and mental fatigue. After learning about his position, the top brass of the organization held a meeting at the office of Beximco Pharmaceuticals, the workplace of BCB President Nazmul Hasan in Dhanmondi today.
At the press conference after the meeting, Jalal Yunus said that the country's highest cricket administration has decided to rest Shakib from all forms of cricket till April 30.
Jalal said, 'You know, before going abroad, Shakib said he was mentally depressed. Physically not in very good condition. I told him, think for a few days. Take two days. Since two days have passed, I call him today. He still says that he is physically and mentally unfit. For this reason, he does not want to visit South Africa. '
After sitting with the board president, Jalal told the decision, 'I sat with the board president. There were many more of us. Thinking about Shakib, we decided that he needs to rest. So I have decided to rest him from all forms of cricket till April 30. This decision has also been communicated to Shakib. '
However, Jalal did not give a clear answer on whether the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) held at the same time will fall under this rest. Shakib has signed up to play for Mohammedan in the DPL starting March 15.
