Three days after the rape and murder of schoolgirl Hiramani in South Hamchadi of Laxmipur, the police arrested two people on Monday (June 15) afternoon.
Arrested Ayan is the son of Bechu Mia of Gopinathpur village of Sadar Upazila and Suman is the son of Mohammad Ali of the same village. AKM Azizur Rahman Miah, in-charge of Laxmipur Sadar police station, said that Sumon, a young man from the neighboring house, and Ayan, the girl's boyfriend, have been arrested in this incident. They will be remanded through the court.
Fatema Begum, the mother of the slain schoolgirl, filed a rape and murder case against an anonymous accused on the night of the incident (Friday). The police arrested the two after 3 days of filing the case.
Incidentally, on Friday afternoon on June 12, miscreants found Hiramani, a class 9 student of Palerhat High School, alone in her residence in Nandanpur village of South Hamchadi Union of Sadar Upazila and fled after raping her. This incident has created a lot of excitement in Lakshmipur.
