Rohingya mother and son arrested with eight gold bars in Sitakunda

RAB arrested Rohingya mothers and sons with eight gold bars from Sitakunda's Jungle Salimpur area of Chittagong.The estimated price of these gold bars weighing 14 crores was 1 crore.

The two arrested are Azmat Ullah and his mother Chahura Begum. RAB official MA Yusuf said that Azmat's father came to live in Jangal Salimpur from Mitanmar in 2012. In 2014, they moved to Saudi Arabia in a Bhuta passport Banani, after being detained by the police, Azmat returned to the country in 2020 and started living in Cox's Bazar.

He added that Azmat took home from Cox's Bazar to Jungle Salimpur in Chittagong a few months ago. After receiving specific information, a team of RAB conducted the raid on the house late on Friday night after Azmat was arrested by his mother and his mother took out the gold bars from the cupboard.
