Two buildings were declared abandoned 30 years ago due to danger. But in that abandoned building - the police station. Policemen are living there amid fear of accidents. At the same time, important documents are about to be destroyed in the sun and rain. This image is of Hajimara in North Charbanshi and South Charbanshi Unions of Raipur Upazila of Laxmipur and near Hyderganj Bazar in North Charababil and South Charababil-Union.

According to outpost police and local resident sources, in 1976, police operations started in two buildings inside the Water Development Board, thinking about the safety of the Meghna coastal region residents. When it was declared abandoned after a few years, operations began on both buildings. In 1980, the authorities declared the Poubor building abandoned as it was dangerous. Later, administrative activities were removed from that residential building. Another is Hyderganj, the commercial town of Charababil UP. However, the operation of the police outpost is still going on in three buildings in those two abandoned places.

On the surface, it can be seen that there are large cracks in the outer and inner walls of the building. Doors and windows are broken. The plaster of the roof fell off and the iron rods came out. Inside the room, the roof is supported by bamboo poles. The buildings also have no boundary walls.

Two policemen who did not wish to be named said, 'When it rains, we have to cover the office papers and our bedding with polythene. If there is a storm, the danger is more. Fearing that the building would collapse, many took shelter outside in the shophouses on the left side. There is always a panic in the house.'

Hazimara outpost inspector Abu Yusuf and Hyderganj outpost inspector Md. Jahangir said, the buildings are in such bad condition, everyone is afraid to enter them. Policemen don't want to stay here, get transferred and go elsewhere. 5 years ago there were 7 people here. At present there are 14 people including officers in Hajimara barracks. There are 12 people including the officer in the barracks in Hyderganj.

North Charbanshi UP Chairman Md. Hussain Master, South Charbanshi UP Chairman Abu Saleh Mintu Farayezi and South Charababil UP Chairman Shahid Ullah said, 'The condition of the buildings where the police outpost members live is very bad. Major accidents can happen at any time. A grant was given for the outpost by the Parishad out of concern for the safety of the four Union residents. More will be given.

Laxmipur Assistant Superintendent of Police (Raipur-Ramganj Circle) Espina Rani Pramanik said, the police outpost is an abandoned resthaige in a town on the banks of the Meghna River. On Thursday (September 24) visit, I was personally distressed to see the suffering of the members in the dangerous building. I have reported the risk to higher authorities. I will make a special request to the authorities for the necessary allocation for the construction of new buildings.
