A large amount of government rice and wheat have been seized from privately owned warehouses in Kamalnagar upazila of Laxmipur.

Yesterday Thursday from 3 pm to 11 pm in the upazila's Hazir Hat Bazar area of the upazila, Farid Uddin, Hatdar and Roni, the operation was conducted by the National Security Guard Organization (NSI), Kamalnagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Kamalnagar Thana Police.
A man named Nizam Uddin was arrested for being involved in the incident, which has been seized by thousands of sacks of government rice and wheat, which is kept illegally stored.
It is known that Farid Uddin, Hatadar and Roni, allocated for the construction of rural infrastructure in Kamalnagar upazila, have illegally stocked them in the black market with the connivance of public representatives in their godowns.
Based on secret information, NSI's Laxmipur Office Deputy Director Manik Dey, Kamalnagar UNO and Executive Magistrate Mobarak Hossain, Kamalnagar Thana Police conducted the operation.
NSI Deputy Director Suman Dey said, ‘The rice trader will seize 190 sacks of rice (50 kg per bag) from inside the godown of the rice trader Farid and 400 sacks of rice from a truck in front of the godown.
At night, the rice business in the same area was raided in the godown in the godown. 91 sacks of wheat, which was illegally stored in the godown, was seized and the godown was seized and handed over to the Kamalnagar police station by Kamalnagar police station and the godown was sealed.
Later in the night, around 9 o'clock in the night, 116 sacks of government sealed wheat was recovered from Roni's godown in Hat Bazar and sealed the godown.’ NSI official said, ‘It is being thought that these rice allocated for the construction of rural infrastructure and government food-friendly programs Kabikha and TR did not use these rice, which was used for the illegal sale of public representatives and traders in the black market.’
Laxmipur district food surveillance Saheed Uddin said, ‘The incident is being prepared for the OCLAJB food warehouse, the amount of seized rice and wheat is 125.30 metric tons.
