Passing bill in Pakistan Parliament canceling EVMs in elections

The National Assembly, the lower house of Pakistan, has passed a bill canceling the use of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in the national elections, and the I-voting of expatriate Pakistanis has also been canceled. Besides, another bill has been passed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) powers of the anti-corruption agency National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The ruling party raised the Election (Amendment) Bill, 2022 and NAB (Second Amendment) Bill, 2021 in the National Assembly on Thursday. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif was also present at the session.
By amending the election law, the use of EVMs in the national elections and the I-voting of expatriate Pakistanis has been eliminated the controversial changes brought by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
The government party has raised two bills in the same parliament, while there are rumors about the possibility of early elections. Election dates are announced and the government will limit the sixth day to the government, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan announced the sudden ‘Azadi March’ program.
The two bills passed in the National Assembly will now be sent to the Senate, the upper house of the Parliament for approval, and the bill will become two laws after it is passed in the Senate.
