All upazila hospitals in the country will be upgraded to 50 beds: Health Minister

All the upazila hospitals in the country will be upgraded to 50 beds and the emergency manpower shortage will be met soon after the health minister Zahid Malek said.
He said this during the question-and-section session of the 19th session of Parliament on Monday (August 29) afternoon. In the session chaired by Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, Harunur Rashid, a BNP Member of Parliament from Chapainbabaganj-3 Constituency, complained that the patients of the country are moving to neighboring countries due to extreme mismanagement of the health sector, and billions of rupees are being smuggled to India for treatment.
In reply, the health minister claimed that the current government has built more than twice as many hospitals during the BNP period.
