30 million people are in lockdown in China

The situation of the coronavirus epidemic in China is becoming critical again. As of Tuesday, 30 million people in 13 cities of the country have been kept under lockdown. A partial lockdown has been imposed in some other cities.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, the Chinese government has taken a strict stance on the implementation of 'Covid Zero'.

The country started to get its benefits. The country is back to normal life. Although there were occasional reports of increased infection situation. But recently the infection situation started to change completely. Yesterday, it was reported that 5 thousand 280 corona positive people were confirmed in one day in the country, which is almost double the number of corona detections compared to the previous day.

To deal with this situation, the country started imposing lockdown in various areas. Meanwhile, 13 cities including Shenzhen, Shanghai, Lijin have been locked down. A partial lockdown has been imposed in some other cities.

International media say that the current situation in China is the most negative in two years of the ongoing epidemic, considering the infection situation and the extent of the lockdown.

As infections continue to rise, Chinese health authorities have urged the country's over-60s to be vaccinated, considering them to be at higher risk. According to the government, 80 percent of China's over-60 population has received two vaccinations.

Not only in the public health sector, but also in the business sector. Several multinationals have been forced to suspend their operations in China. Companies like Toyota, Volkswagen and Foxconn are on the list. The stock market is also affected.

Infections have also increased in Germany: When the German government is preparing to relax the corona rules, there are reports of an increase in infections.

Germany's Robert Koch Institute said yesterday that 1 lakh 98 thousand 888 people have been diagnosed with corona in the last seven days. The number is 42 thousand more than the previous seven days.

Despite the increase in infections, the government is no longer in favor of tightening hygiene rules across the country. The government's argument in this regard is that there is no danger of disaster in the health care sector due to the epidemic. However, the government is in favor of strengthening immunity in hotspots in case of increased infection.
