Rice market will not be allowed to become unstable: Food Minister

Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumdar said that the rice market will not be destabilized in any way. In addition to strengthening the domestic rice collection, rice will be imported from abroad.

The minister said that the marginal farmers have sold paddy long ago, the mill owners say that many farmers are not in the hope of extra profit. He said that those who have illegal stocking will be brought under the law.

On Thursday (July 1), the minister's speech was added to the meeting of the ‘management of the country's overall food grains’ from its official residence. Agriculture Minister Dr. Abdur Razzak and Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi also spoke on the virtually joined the meeting.

Agriculture Minister Dr. Abdur Razzak said that the farmer has got the fair price of paddy. If the market is imported by importing the market, the real farmer will not be harmed.

Referring to the decline in agricultural land, Abdur Razzak said that food security should be ensured in production and food demand, he said, not stopping the collection of government rice, in addition to stopping the collection of government rice. He emphasized on keeping the price of rice low and keeping the market price stable by importing rice from there.

 

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said, if there is no accurate statistics of food demand, more imports can cause harm to farmers, while less imports can cause trouble for the consumer, he said, "We are a country of agrarian economy, we have to increase the capacity of people in industries as well as industries, or industries."
