4-member committee to find the cause of waterlogging in Chittagong

CDA Chief Engineer Kazi Hasan Bin Shams has been made the head of the committee. The committee includes Chief Engineer of Chittagong City Corporation Rafiqul Islam, the most important organization of the city's implementation of the city's waterlogging, Lt. Shah Ali, City Corporation's Waste Management Statistical Committee President Mubarak Ali.

The rains have been flooded in various areas of Chittagong from last Thursday to Monday, which have been watering for seven consecutive days. The water had accumulated in Bahaddarhat Badhadarhat area of Bahaddarhat for three days, the city's people were suffering due to heavy rains, and this was the case of the waterlogging.

At the end of the meeting, the city corporation's Metr Md spoke to the journalists. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said, ‘This time the waterlogging has suffered more. Any development will be affected. This time there is a heavy rain. This is why the suffering has been more. The poison has not given all the authorities. We have started working together to relieve the people from suffering.’

Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said that the water will be quickly rescheduled and the suffering of waterlogging is to be tolerated, these poisonous discussions have been held. This committee will inspect the ground in 7 to 10 days.

Metor Md announced the implementation of a crash program to remove all the barriers of water drainage. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said that if the water drainage barriers are removed, the suffering of the people will be reduced.

At present, four projects are underway to solve the flooding of Chittagong city with Tk 10,921 crore. CDA, City Corporation and Water Unnon Board (PUBO) are implementing these projects. The companies have not completed a single project in the designated organization.

60 feet canal is now a 3 feet canal

Before the start of the meeting, the city corporation chief engineer Rafiqul Islam presented the picture of the water drainage in the canals of the city. A senior official of an organization that took part in Wednesday's meeting expressed his anger, saying that the country's second largest and most important city has been submerged in water for several days. This cannot be done. For this, action should be taken very quickly.
