High Court asks to provide security like UNO to upazila chairmen

The High Court has directed the chairman of each upazila parishad to put up a signboard instead of the upazila executive officer's office on the signboard of the upazila parishad building.

The order has been published on Thursday in this regard. The order has been issued a ruling that the Upazila Parishad Act-1998 has not been in conflict with the Constitution, and the defendants have been asked to respond to this rule within four weeks.

Advocate Ajmalul Hossain QC and Mohiuddin Md. Alamin and Additional Attorney General Mehedi Hasan Chowdhury and Deputy Attorney General Samarendranath Biswas for the state heard the hearing.

Dr. Mohiuddin Md. Alamin told reporters that the High Court has asked the upazila chairmen to provide security like the upazila executive officer.
