Miscreants killed a mother and daughter by stabbing them in Narayanganj. The police recovered their bodies from the sixth floor of a building in Dailpatti area of Nitaiganj on Tuesday afternoon. Meanwhile, the body of a pregnant housewife was recovered in Fatulla in the afternoon.
Police arrested two suspects in the murder of mother and daughter.
The two deceased are Ruma Chakraborty (46) and her daughter Mitu Chakraborty (22). Mitu was pregnant. Ruma's husband Ramprasad Chakraborty is a local dal trader. One of the arrested persons is a woman. His name is not known. The other person detained is the local Md. Zubair.
The pregnant housewife whose body was found in Shantinagar area of Enayatnagar Union of Fatulla has been identified as Rabeya Begum (35). In this incident, the police arrested Rabey's husband.
OC Shah Zaman of Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station said that the detained Jubair knocked on the door of the deceased's house around 2:30 in the afternoon. As soon as Ruma opened the door, Zubair stabbed her. Later, Mitu who was in the room was also stabbed to death. Later, when they saw the arrested woman coming down with a bloody knife, the neighbors of the victims closed the main door of the building. Later they were arrested and reported to the police.
Ruma Chakraborty's husband Ramprasad Chakraborty said, 'I was working in a shop. Our owner went to pray in the mosque. Then our landlord's nephew came and said, go home, something has happened there. Then I came here and saw hundreds of people. I couldn't go up anymore. Later I came to know that they were murdered. '
Additional Superintendent of Police Khosru said, 'We have managed to arrest the main killer. He is speaking slurred. We will remand him. He also said, "Atak is a resident of Jubair area. We have learned that he is not related to the victim's family. '
Meanwhile, Rabeya Begum's body was recovered from Shantinagar area of Fatulla yesterday at 1 pm and sent to Victoria Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
The deceased Rabeya Bhola is the daughter of Tofazzal Sikdar of Tallukkanda village of South Aicha police station. With her husband and children, Fatulla used to live on rent in Hariharpara Shantinagar Dulal Mia's house.
Sohel Ahmed Apu, the husband of Rabeya, who was killed in the incident, has been arrested by the police. Apur's house is in Charnihalganj village of Kotwali police station in Barisal.
According to local sources, Apu quarreled with Rabeya a month and a half ago. Apu went out leaving his four sons at home. Since then he was working in garments from outside.
The people of the house said that they saw Apu coming home on Monday night. Yesterday morning, his wife's dead body was found inside the house.
