Own Correspondent, Barisal >> To increase the capacity of food storage, the government has taken the initiative of constructing steel silos in different places of the country including Barisal. A rice storage silo will be constructed in Barisal under a package of the 'Modern Food Storage Facilities Project (MFSP)' project under the implementation of the Department of Food with the financial support of the World Bank. It will cost 330 crore 86 lakh 15 thousand 822 taka.<\/p>\n

The project will be implemented from January 2014 to June 2020 at a total cost of Tk 1,919 crore 96 lakh 75 thousand (GOB 3 crore 35 lakh 24 thousand, project aid 1 thousand 876 crore 61 lakh 51 thousand and Tk 40 crore given by the beneficiary). It was approved in the Eknek meeting on March 11.<\/p>\n

According to sources, additional financing of US$ 202 million was provided by the World Bank as additional financing was required for eight modern steel silos and other ancillary components including ICT components. In view of this, the Second Revised DPP at a total cost of Tk 3,568 crore 94 lakh (GOB 65 crore, project aid 3 thousand 499 crore 94 lakh and beneficiary 4 crore) for the period January 2014 to October 2023 was held on September 1, 2020 for implementation.
