The state of the Election Commission's Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) project is \u2018Fande Pai'a Baga Kande Re\u2019. Now, the constitutional institution does not understand what to do.<\/p>\n

Prothom-alo<\/em>According to the news, the Election Commission had bought 2 lakh EVMs in 2018. The project under which these devices were bought, the project will be completed in June. There is no financial support for the maintenance of the EVMs. These devices are supposed to have a 100 years of service. But more than one lakh EVMs have become useless in five years.<\/p>\n

The concerned persons say that the EC had launched a \u2018flawed\u2019 project worth Tk 3,825 crore to buy EVMs before the 11th National Assembly elections. In this case, the recommendation of the technical committee formed under the leadership of Jamilur Reza Chowdhury was not accepted. The Huda Commission may impose a credible election on the political leadership, but how can they buy inferior quality and defective EVMs? A constitutional institution cannot do whatever it wants. Those who have misappropriated people's tax money in the name of buying EVMs must be held accountable.<\/p>\n

The current commission has inherited the EVMs. If not conducted a fair and credible investigation, then they will also have to bear the crime of their predecessor.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
