Trinamool leader Mamata Banerjee has taken the initiative to combat Covid after taking oath as the third consecutive Chief Minister of West Bengal. She held a press conference after concluding the meeting in Nabanna on Wednesday (May 5). In it, she announced that all local trains will be closed from Thursday (May 6). In addition, the number of metro and buses has also been reduced by half. This was reported by Indian media Anandabazar.
According to the report, Mamata said that it is mandatory to have a negative Covid report for air travel. The government has been emphasizing the use of masks and sanitizers since the beginning of the Corona situation. On Wednesday, Mamata said, 'Everyone must wear masks. Sanitizers must be used.' Mamata said that 50 percent of employees in government and private offices will have to work from home.
Shopping malls, restaurants, bars will all remain closed. However, Mamata said there are no plans for a lockdown right now.
