After 11 long years of legal complications, the election of Sadar Municipality of Jhenaidah was held in EVM system.
Independent candidate Kaitum Shahriter Zahedi Hizal Chalman was elected as the mechanic in the election on Sunday (September 11).
District Election Officer Abdus Chalek said Hizal got 25,691 votes in the coconut symbol and his nearest rival Abdul Khalek in the boat symbol got 18,616 votes.
He said that the election has ended fairly. The number of women voters was very high.
The election official also said that the polling in 47 centers of 9 OTERARDs ended peacefully and the polling was 57 percent.
In this election, four metro candidates and 83 councilor candidates participated in the vote war. The total number of voters was 82 thousand 695 people.
