The tragic accident took place in Telikhali village of Gabbunita area of Chila Union of the upazila around 11 o'clock on Friday (July 15).
It is known that the two children killed, Jim (05) and his nephew Lovelu Sheikh's infant daughter Rain (04) are a day laborer Delotar Sheikh, a resident of Telikhali village in Gabbunita area of Chila Uni, of the upazila.
The families of the dead children, the gym and the rain were playing in the yard of their house, they went to the water to pick up water from the pond and then they went to the water in the yard and started searching for them.
After the rescue, the two children were taken to the upazila health complex and the doctor on duty declared them dead.
Doctor on duty. Sirajul Islam said that they died after drowning in the pond, and their relatives of the dead condition came to the hospital.
Mongla Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Monirul Islam said that the incident has been filed in a case of death of the deceased children and the bodies of the children have been handed over to their families.
