The Election Commission (EC) is preparing to vote in Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in the 300th parliamentary seat in the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections. The Constitutional institution has not stopped a bit in that preparation due to the pandemic.
Those concerned with the EC say that as part of the preparation, the commission already has about two lakh EVMs in hand. 35,000 EVMs are being made faster, 40,000 polling stations in the National Assembly will require about 100,000 EVMs, and the Election Commission has always been questioned about its ability to use EVMs.
When asked about this issue, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda told Ittefaq that we will keep all kinds of preparations to vote in EVM in all parliamentary constituencies. Although there has been some loss due to Corona, CEC said that we can vote in EVM in 300 seats.
Sources related to the EC say that the policy decision to use EVM in all elections is being done in all elections in the future. At present, the use of this device is being used in the local government elections. But if the corona is long, it will be difficult to vote in 30 seats. In the parliamentary elections on December 30, there will be some success by taking this vote in the 100th parliamentary election.
