The election office of Awami League candidate Zulfikar Ali as chairman in the Bhatgram Union Parishad (UP) election of Bogujar Nandigram Upazila in the fire of the miscreants.
General Secretary of the Aoard Aomi League Alam Hossain said that they returned from the office around 12 o'clock in the evening. They came to know through the local people on Wednesday morning that their election office was set on fire and the fire was destroyed.
According to local sources, the Asthati election office was surrounded by cups from three sides. Several parts of the cup were burnt in the fire, along with some plastic cheeters and boat symbol posters.
Awami League nominee and president of Bhatgram Unit League Zulfikar Ali said that the opponents have set fire to his election office at night to create fear of the voters. He also said that he will take legal action.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nandigram Police Station Abul Kalam Azad said that no one has filed a complaint and if the complaint is received, the persons who are in the law will be brought under the law after investigation.
