Nearly 5,000 objectionable links removed from Facebook: BTRC

In the last one year, BTRC has closed about 5,000 links from Facebook, considering the offensive content, this information was given in a press conference at the conference room of the BTRC office on Monday (September 6).

It was informed in the press conference that in the last one year, Facebook has been requested to remove about 18,836 links, of which 4,888 links have been removed and 13,984 links are still active.

According to a statistic published by BTRC at the press conference, 62 links were removed when YouTube requested to remove 461 links, and 369 links are still active.

While presenting the statistics at the conference, Director General of BTRC System and Service Department Brigadier General Nasim Parvez said that according to the instructions of Post and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar, a technical system called Cyber Threat Detection and Response (CTDR) has already been stopped in more than 22,000 pornography and jurisprudence sites. He mentioned that it is 100% activity.

It was also informed in the event that according to Section 8 (1 and 2) of the Digital Security Act 2018, they completed this program when a special request was made to remove/block content from the digital media, the general of the law enforcement agencies through the digital security agency.
