The heat of summer has started after fasting. Some have already started fasting again in the month of Shawwal. Still, we know that after the end of the month of mercy, forgiveness and salvation for Muslims, every believing Muslim should continue to be health conscious. For this, some necessary observations are mentioned below.
Fasting in this summer may cause some kind of health problem later and its remedy:
The first problem that may arise after fasting for a long time is getting the body used to the new diet. That is, the habit of eating normal food for the other 11 months of the year instead of Iftar, dinner and Sehri. Like breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. Due to these changes, some people may have special aversions, loss of appetite, sleep disturbances, headaches, etc.
Remedy:
Mentally adjust yourself to eating habits. It may be a little difficult at first, but later you will get used to it. Eat what you want to eat if you have too much appetite or lack of appetite. Eat less and less often.
In case of severe sleep disturbance, firstly any tablet for sleep can be taken as per doctor's advice and pain killer paracetamol for headache. Consuming plenty of drinks and fruit juices and physical activity help to offset these benefits.
Due to change in meal time, stomach pain, acidity, heartburn, peptic ulcer may increase in many people. To get rid of these, you should take medicines such as antacids, easily digestible food as advised by the doctor.
Smoking, cigarettes, intoxicants and tea-coffee should be consumed less or not at all.
Eating too much oily, spicy, greasy food can cause stomach ache, loose stools, indigestion etc. That is why it is recommended to eat all these foods in small quantities. Oral saline and liquid diet can be given if there is more difficulty. If there is too much diarrhea or dysentery, you should take medicine as advised by the doctor.
Entertainment, parks, eating at fairs with family members visiting various relatives' houses can cause fatigue, dizziness, weakness, reduced urination and in some cases, fainting due to excess sweat released from the body. For this, drinking plenty of water, fresh fruit juice, oral saline should be taken.
Should be located in a cool and shady place. Umbrella, hat, glasses should be used and heat should be avoided as much as possible.
During this time, the amount of food is a little more, especially sweet food like semai, pies, phirni, jorda, polao, korma, roast, ice cream etc. That's why all those patients who are suffering from diabetes and blood pressure should be careful about eating it. If more is consumed, the dose of insulin or the dose of oral pills should be adjusted according to the doctor's advice to control blood sugar.
Blood pressure patients should refrain from consuming high salt, high fat foods and try to control blood pressure by controlling food, with medication according to age, gender and height.
Above all, follow the health regulations issued by various government agencies, if you feel very sick due to heat, do not treat yourself without the advice of a registered doctor.
