Laxmipur District Awami League General Secretary Advocate Noor Uddin Chowdhury Nayan gave an ultimatum to the police administration to arrest the BNP candidate of the Chandraganj Union Parishad by-election by 10 o'clock on Monday (October 19).
Noor Uddin Chowdhury announced this ultimatum in Chandraganj UP by-election courtyard meeting under the chairmanship of Abul Kashem Chowdhury, convener of Chandraganj Thana Awami League, in Chandraganj Bazar on Sunday (October 18) afternoon.
Advocate Noor Uddin Chowdhury Nayan also said, 'If the administration fails to arrest The workers of Awami League will hand over Tofail, the head of the Tofail forces, to the police.
This district Awami League leader complained and said, 'BNP party cadres at one time set fire to various shops in Chandraganj market, extortion, killing and cutting down trees, the common people of this region have suffered a lot. They will be brought under the law.'
Chandraganj Thana Awami League convener Abul Kashem Chowdhury also spoke, district Awami League former president M Alauddin, district Awami League leader Advocate Jasim Uddin PP, Chandraganj Thana 14-party alliance convener M Chhabir Ahmed, district women Awami League leader Farida Yasmin Lika, nominated candidate of Nauka and Local Union Awami League President Nurul Amin, District Volunteer League President Belayet Hossain Belal, District Chhatra League President Shahadat Hossain Sharif and others.
Former convener of Chandraganj Thana Chhatra League Kazi Mamunur Rashid Bablur was also present in this election meeting - President of District Jubo League and Chairman of Sadar Upazila AKM Salah Uddin Tipu, General Secretary Abdullah Al Noman, former student leaders Abdul Jabbar Lovelu and Syed Nurul Azim Babar, District Chhatra League. General Secretary Ziaul Karim Nishan along with thousands of leaders and workers came in support of the boat.
At the end of the discussion, a huge election rally was taken out in support of the boat marker in the evening. The procession passed through various streets in the market and the Dhaka-Laxmipur highway and ended again at the mass meeting place.
