Kindergarten is ahead in financial losses among the education sector affected by Corona. One by one the institutions are closing down, the entrepreneurs have become destitute, and the teachers have lost their jobs. Those who are still surviving in such a situation are also thinking of returning to other professions. Kindergarten owners say that if this situation continues, the name of kindergarten may be lost at some point.
According to the Kindergarten Oikya Parishad, the number of private kindergartens in the country was more than 60,000. There were more than 80 lakh students. And there were 10 lakh teachers. These schools were scattered in the divisional towns and especially in the Oligli of the capital. Looking around, you will see the sign of the kindergarten, which is not visible anymore.
Those concerned say that most of the kindergarten owners and teachers have now become dependent on the relief. Entrepreneurs who are financially sound are helping others.
Kindergarten owners say that the education program of reputed schools in the country including the capital usually starts from the first grade. And most of the government secondary schools start from third or fourth grade. Till now, kindergarten is one of the choices of parents. Students are admitted in various classes including Play, Nursery, KG. However, the number of students is mainly in the mentioned three classes. But the admission in these classes is almost zero this time. According to the information, child students are admitted in these classes in November-December. And classes start in January. Due to corona, no new students were admitted in these classes. And the students who were enrolled in other classes also showed no interest in continuing the class. Most of the parents are reluctant to pay the tuition fees due to the closure of educational institutions.
Most Kindergarten students did not pay tuition fees from February-March. As such they are not keeping any contact with the school. Because they also think that if they contact, they will have to pay the outstanding tuition fees. For this, everyone is usually waiting for the opening of educational institutions. And due to non-payment of tuition fees, teachers and staff have not been paid for 14 months.
Kindergarten owners have informed teachers and staff that there is no opportunity to pay salaries. So there is no job at this time. If the school ever opens, I will be able to pay the salary again.
