Fifty out of 560 model mosques inaugurated today

It is a tradition of Muslims to use mosques not only for prayers but also as centers for Islamic research, culture, and knowledge. Although mosques are now used only for prayers, the government is building 560 beautiful model mosques and Islamic cultural centers in every district and upazila of the country to bring back that tradition.

Among them, in the first phase on the occasion of Mujib Barsho, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will officially inaugurate 50 model mosques virtually from Ganabhaban today, Thursday at 10:30 am. Through this, Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina's initiative in practicing Islam will see success. This is the first time in the world that any government has built such a large number of mosques at the same time. The scholars and ulama expressed hope that through this, the incidents of fanaticism, extremism and militancy will decrease as a result of knowing Islam completely.

These mosques are being built on the model of mosques cum Islamic cultural centers in the Arab world. These vast model mosques and Islamic cultural complexes equipped with modern facilities will have separate ablution and prayer facilities for men and women, a library, research center, Islamic book sales center, Quran memorization department, children's education, guest house, accommodation for foreign tourists, facilities for bathing corpses, registration and training of pilgrims, training of imams, autism center, mass education center, Islamic cultural center. A special group is always trying to corner the ruling Awami League by labeling it 'anti-Islam'. The opposition party is trying to use this as a tool during elections. Although Awami League leaders believe that they will respond to these slanders through actions rather than propaganda. Awami League's Religious Affairs Secretary Sirajul Mostafa said, Bangabandhu established the Islamic Foundation, gave a mosque in Kakrail and a place for Ijtema in Tongi for Tablighi Jamaat. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken various initiatives to promote madrasa education. She has given a certificate to Qawmi Madrasa, and made an independent Arabic university for Alia Madrasa.
