The EC will publish the draft of the parliamentary constituency boundaries next week, keeping the previous boundaries intact. The final re-determination will be made after hearing objections and applications, said Election Commission Secretary Md. Jahangir Alam.
He made these remarks after the boundary commission meeting on Tuesday (February 7) morning. He said, the deadline for applications will be announced when the draft is published. Anyone can apply within this period. Special importance will be given to the integrity of geographical boundaries and administrative integrity.
Incidentally, there is an obligation to delimit the boundaries before the national elections. Therefore, the EC redraws the boundaries before each vote.
