Actress Anjana Rahman, who was elected as an executive member of the Artists' Association, took the oath feeling the urge to work together. Anjana was the first to take the oath as the winning member of the Misha-Zayed panel. She came to the FDC on Wednesday evening and took the oath from Ilias Kanchan.
There has been mixed reactions in the FDC regarding this.
However, Anjana says she waited and watched, then took the oath after understanding.
In this election, the Misha-Zayed panel and the Ilias Kanchan-Nipun panel contested. Ilias Kanchan was elected as the president and Zayed Khan as the general secretary. Later, following Nipun's application, one incident after another has been happening regarding the claimant for the general secretary post. Who will be the general secretary now depends on the court's verdict.
Meanwhile, the panel members including Ilyas Kanchan have taken the oath. However, due to complications over the post of general secretary, none of those with Zayed Khan have taken the oath.
In this regard, Anjana said on Wednesday evening, 'If my former president [Misha Saudagar] can explain the responsibility, then where is the problem with me taking the oath? And Ilyas Kanchan is the hero of 17 of my films. I took the oath with the urge that we will work together.'
Actor Mamunun Emon, who was selected from the Ilias Kanchan-Nipun panel, also took the oath on the same day. Emon was unable to attend the oath-taking ceremony the previous time as he was out of Dhaka for a shoot.
After the oath, Nipun welcomed Anjana with flowers.
