A discussion meeting was held with public representatives, political figures, leaders of professional organizations in order to accelerate the development activities of the backward Lakshmipur district. Last Wednesday (August 5) this post-Eid exchange meeting was organized at the temporary office of Laxmipur District Awami League.
District Awami League General Secretary Advocate Nooruddin Chowdhury Nayan was the chief guest in the exchange meeting held under the chairmanship of Laxmipur Press Club President Hossain Ahmad Helal.
Bangladesh Government Employees Welfare Federation President Md. The convening committee of 51-member Laxmipur District Development Implementation Council was formed by making Hedayet Hossain the convener, Zakir Hossain Bhuiyan Azad, president of Laxmipur District Collective Cultural Alliance, as joint convener and Hossain Ahmad Helal, president of Laxmipur Press Club, as member secretary.
An advisory committee consisting of 7 members was formed in the meeting. They are AKM Shahjahan Kamal, Member of Parliament for Laxmipur-3 Constituency, Anwar Hossain Khan, Member of Parliament for Laxmipur-1 Constituency, Harunur Rashid, Secretary of Awami League for Sports Affairs and former Member of Parliament, Awami League Secretary for Agriculture Affairs and former Member of Parliament Faridunnahar Laili, Laxmipur. Zilla Parishad Chairman Mohammad Shahjahan, Laxmipur District Awami League President Golam Farooq Pinku, General Secretary Advocate Nuruddin Chowdhury Nayan.
Former President of Sadar Upazila Awami League Bijan Bihari Ghosh, former General Secretary of Press Club Md. Kauchar, President of District Primary Teachers Association Shamsuddin Babul, President of District Land Development Officers Association Abdus Sahid, President of Bascof were also present in the meeting. Samar, employees club president Nazmul Hosai, general secretary Moniruzzaman and other top leaders of various government institutions of Lakshmipur district.
