Lockdown may be extended for another 7 days, decision to be made by Wednesday

A strict seven-day lockdown has been imposed to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The lockdown, which began at 6 am on Thursday (July 1), will continue until midnight on July 7. However, the current lockdown may be extended for another 7 days. However, the lockdown may be relaxed slightly before Eid, considering the situation. A decision on this may be made by Wednesday.

An official of the Cabinet Department, who did not want to be named, told the media that the Corona situation is not yet normal. The death toll is still more than 100. Therefore, thoughts are being raised about extending the period of restrictions. A final decision has not been made on this matter yet. Nothing can be said until a decision is made. However, it may be extended by 7 days.

Earlier, the 'National Technical Advisory Committee on COVID-19' recommended a complete shutdown of the entire country for 14 days to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). Later, the government said that the advisory committee would consider the recommendation. After that, the government imposed seven-day restrictions.

Meanwhile, despite the restrictions imposed, the number of corona infected and deaths is increasing almost every day. The pile of bodies is getting longer. The number of corona infected is also increasing. Today, Sunday, the highest number of 153 people died in a single day in the history of corona in the country. In addition, 8,661 new corona cases have been identified. A total of 15,065 people have died. And a total of 9,44,917 people have been infected. In such a situation, an official of the Ministry of Public Administration told the media that at the rate of deaths and infections due to corona, the government has no other option but to increase restrictions.
