Rooppur's third shipment of the Russian ship at Mongla port

After the start of the Rashita-Ukraine war, the ships of the Rooppur nuclear power plant from the Russians have been sent to the jetty of Mongla port.

The ship MV UNISOM was visited at the jetty of Mongla Port around 7 pm on Monday (September 5).

Mongla Port Authority Deputy Secretary Munshi Mohammad Makruzzaman and local shipping agent of the foreign ship, MAC Shipping Khulna Manager Abul Hashem Shamim, have come to know the news.

They said that after the start of the Rashita-Ukraine war, it was run the third of the goods of the Rooppur nuclear power plant. The shipment carried out the shipment of 280 packages of 280 metric tons. After 10 pm, the work of clearing the goods from the ship started at the Rooppur nuclear power plant.

Hashem Shamim said that the clearance of this product will take four days. Earlier on August 1, MV Kamilla and August 5 MV Dragonball Rashita from Rooppur nuclear power plant came to Mongla port.

Mongla Port Authority Chetner Admiral M Musa said, due to the existing state-of-the-art facilities of Mongla Port, most of the mega project goods of the country are being imported and transported through this port.

He said that due to the launch of Padma Bridge, the distance with Dhaka is decreasing, the interest of all businessmen towards Mongla port is gradually increasing.

M Musa said that all the goods of the big mega projects of the country including Metrorail, Rampal thermal power plant and Bangabandhu Railway Bridge are coming to Mongla Port.

He said that outerbar dredging has been completed recently and once the ongoing inerbar dredging project is completed, the ship will be able to visit the port.

Admiral M Musa also said that the existing facilities of the port and the capacity of the port have been under pressure on this port since the opening of the Padma Bridge.
