The ongoing partial lockdown in West Bengal to prevent the spread of coronavirus has been extended till July 30. However, relaxations have been made in a few places. The new instructions were issued in a press release by the state secretariat on Wednesday.
Wednesday's announcement exempted metro and special staff trains. In addition, government and private buses, taxis, autos, Ola, Uber, launch and ferry services will operate with 50 percent passenger capacity. However, local train services will remain closed.
The notification further said that as per the previous announcement, government and private offices in the state will operate with 50 percent staff, and the offices will remain open from 10 am to 4 pm. The opening hours of banks have been extended by one hour from 10 am to 3 pm. However, all schools, colleges and universities in the state will remain closed. Raw markets will remain open from 6 am to 12 midnight. Other shops will remain open from 11 am to 8 pm. Apart from this, restaurants, shopping malls, bars and clubs can remain open with 50 percent staff till 8 pm. Cinema halls will remain closed.
