On Wednesday evening, RAB members were attacked at the head of Shantirhat Road in Bariyarhat Municipal Market of Mirsarai Upazila on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway. They had gone to the area in plain clothes to collect information about drug dealers.
Before the attack, a covered van blocked the movement of the RAB members. Later, the people in the covered van shouted 'robbers, robbers'. Hearing this, local people came. The miscreants, including local people, attacked the RAB members. Three people, including two RAB members, were seriously injured in the attack. The injured RAB members are currently undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka.
