Myanmar talks a lot but does nothing on drugs: Home Minister

Claiming that no drugs are produced in Bangladesh, the Home Minister said, "Bangladesh is not a drug-producing country, but geographically it is located in the two main drug-producing zones of the world. Bangladesh is being used as a route for drug smuggling. After requesting India, it has removed the phensidyl factory from its border area. However, drugs coming from Myanmar cannot be controlled."

The Home Minister further said, "All efforts are being made to prevent the entry of drugs from Myanmar. Discussions have been held with the authorities of that country at various times. Even discussions have been held with the highest echelons of the government. They understand everything but do nothing."
