Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Bangladesh Fresh Fruit Importers Association and India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly organized virtual conference and India-Bangladesh Trade Fair on Wednesday.
The meeting brought together relevant trade bodies and key partners of the two countries for a unique platform to strengthen strategic cooperation between India and Bangladesh in the agri-food sector.
Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Doraiswamy highlighted duty-free quota-free market access for Bangladeshi products under SAFTA since 2011.
He highlighted the importance of linkages between the trade bodies of the two countries. He highlighted the importance of mutual measures in food safety standards and rapid development of technical facilities for the expansion of national trade.

Alamgir said that Benapole, Sutarkandi, Bilonia and Ramgarh land ports are under the process of development at a cost of one and a half crores of Bangladesh government. Land port authorities of both countries are committed to smooth operations, passenger convenience and timely clearance of goods for the convenience of the business community.
President of India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) Abdul Matlub Ahmad said, according to the World Bank report, seamless transport connectivity between India and Bangladesh has the potential to significantly increase the national income of both sides.

An e-catalogue for virtual buyer-seller meetings is published at the conference. Then there is an exchange between exporters and importers. More than 200 business organizations from both countries participated in this conference.
