A young woman named Amena Khatun (29) committed suicide by jumping from the sixth floor roof in Fatullah. It is learnt that she committed suicide in front of her boyfriend. The incident took place on Thursday (July 1) afternoon at Fakir Apparels in Shasangaon Bsik, Fatullah. The deceased Amena Khatun (29) is the daughter of Habib and Firoza Begum of Gauripur Audail village in Natore district.
Eyewitnesses said that Jewel (33), son of Ali Ashraf Gazi of Hasnabad Nayatola area of Keraniganj, and Amena Khatun worked at Fakir Apparels at the same time. This led to a love affair between the two. Jewel borrowed money from Amena at various times. Recently, when a rift arose between them, Amena demanded the money owed from Jewel. The two got into an argument on the roof of the garment shop. At one point, Amena jumped from the roof in front of Jewel and fell to the ground. As a result, Amena died.
