A visit to several markets in the capital revealed that the price of almost all types of fish has increased by Tk 20 to Tk 100 per kg. The price of vegetables has increased. Soybean oil is being sold at the previous price.

The association of edible oil refiners and marketers Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Banaspati Manufacturers Association has reduced the price of soybean oil by Tk 4, but this has not affected the retail market. Buyers have to buy soybean oil at the previous price. However, the prices of chicken, eggs, onions and potatoes remain unchanged.

As per the announced new prices, one liter of bottled soybean oil is expected to be sold at Tk 149 and one liter of open soybean oil at Tk 125. Besides, five liters of bottled oil will be sold at Tk 712 and open palm super at Tk 108. However, on Friday, it was seen that a liter of soybean oil was being sold at Tk 153 per bottle. A kg of open soybean oil is being sold at Tk 130-135. And a kg of palm super is being sold between 115 and 120 taka.

Depending on the size, horn fish was sold at Tk 450 to Tk 550, Rui Tk 220 to Tk 300, Mrigel Tk 180 to Tk 250, Pangash Tk 140 to Tk 170, Katal Tk 280 to Tk 350, Tilapia Tk 140 to Tk 170, Silver Carp Tk 140 to Tk 180. Among these, horn fish is being sold at Tk 50 per kg and other fish are being sold at an average price of Tk 20 to Tk 30 more.

Increase the price because the water is constantly rising in the monsoons, the vegetable crops are going down. Besides, the roads have been damaged due to heavy rains, so vegetables are not coming to the market as per the demand. As a result, the price of vegetables is high.
