Flashes of scattered light

It's like a reel running on a projector suddenly being cut off. The sweet girl of the film, the funny and sexy actress Kabori, the film director Kabori, the MP Kabori's life was also suddenly cut off by the coronavirus.

The passing of Kabori (1950-2021) means the passing of many things. She was also a part of history. She was involved in many things, including films, the Liberation War, politics, social welfare, and cultural organizing.

I remember Subhash Dutt, who created his history. So (1964) About the film. How old was she then? 13-14 years old. At that age, she won the hearts of the audience by acting in this film, competing with Pakistani-Indian-Hollywood films. The film became a super-duper hit. With a budget of a little over 1 lakh taka, this film earned 10 lakh taka at that time. And the film won the second best award at the Frankfurt Film Festival. The King and Queen of England were moved by emotion when they saw Kabori's performance in that film.

SoThe character played by Kabori in the film was named Zarina. She loved the hero Jabbar. She gave him a framed handkerchief with a design on it. It read:

'Flowers bloom and fall.

Worldly customs

You are a friend.

Keep my memory.

But the two did not meet. Zarina got married elsewhere. In the end, she died leaving her newborn child with Jabbar. Her fluent, realistic, emotional, romantic and sad acting in this film captivated the audience. Although Zarina died in the film, the crown of victory fell to the fate of the teenage actress Kabori. Her path was filled with flowers. And the montage of the scattered light of the new actress was scorched.

Kabori's performance in various films in the political, social, and cultural environment of the sixties created new expectations among the audience. She became their darling. She created a new chemistry by pairing with Razzak. Her laughter, dialogue, and projection were accepted by the audience. She was incomparable in the role of a rural, ordinary, middle-class family.

So-The maid of honor, MainamatiThe main character, Under the blue skyCollege student, The water rises in the rivers. The circus girl, Exchange–his dumb daughter, PainterI know the slum girl from Titas is the name of a river.Mother of eternity, Bride's farewell–his tortured bride, Sujan SakhiMy friend, Sareng Bou-The Prophet, DevdasAs Parvati in the film, she became the symbol of the contemporary Bengali woman. The audience found their soulmate in her. This is where Kabori is meaningful and incomparable. Another big image of Kabori was developed through her participation in the Liberation War. Later, she got involved in Awami League politics and became an MP. The International Film Festival was held in 2001 under her leadership. She was also a member of the Film Grants Committee at the end of her life.

From being a silver screen heroine to becoming a member of the National Parliament, she set a new example in Bangladesh. All of these are her achievements and reasons for respect and love.

I would like to end this tribute by stating Kabori's last wish. Weekly, May 19, 1976 BichitraIn response to a question, he said, 'May I receive your love until the end of my life….'

Yes, the girl from Boalkhali Upazila of Chittagong later became a martyr and earned the respect and love of the people until the last day of her life by contributing to the film, liberation war, politics and social fields of Bangladesh.
