The police arrested a fraudster who was in police uniform and demanded money from the SI of Kanchan Municipality of Kanchan Municipality in Rupganj, Naratanganj.
The incident took place at Kanchan Municipal Office on Wednesday (August 17) afternoon.
It is known that the arrested fraudster Rahmat Ullah Naushad (38) is the son of the deceased Kabir Howladar of Khajurita area under Nalchiti police station of Jhalkathi.
Kanchan Municipality Metor Alhaj Rafiqul Islam said that the fraudster entered the municipal matri's room in the afternoon and was deputed to be a police SI.
The culprit also said that the fraudster wanted to talk to him about the fact that his area was taking drugs, drug abuse, eve-teasing, Kisheer gang, and threatened him with various problems.
When he informed the municipal police police that he was suspicious, the police arrested him.
Narratanganj Assistant Superintendent of Police (C-Circle) Abir Hassen said that the incident has been filed in Rupganj Thana. The case has been filed against the arrested fraudster Naushad, Motijheel of the capital and Shibchar Thana of Madaripur have filed two separate cases.
The police officer also said that he was arrested and sent to the court after seeing these cases.
