BNP supporters clashed with the police in the anti-election march of Cox's Bazar, which was shot dead by the BNP and at least five leaders and activists of the BNP and its affiliates were shot dead by the Upazila Youth Party President Kamran Jadid Mukut, Juba Dal leader Jadhal, Chhatra Dal leader Rifat, Tahinul and Md. Shakib.The condition of the two of them is critical in the situation of the Jusal and Rifat.
The incident took place on Saturday in Sikdarpa area of the upazila, witnesses said around 5 pm 40-50 people took out an anti-election march led by the president of Upazila Jubo Dal, Kamran Jadid, and when the police stopped the two sides, a clash broke out between the two parties, and the BNP leaders and activists were injured when the police opened fire.
The locals rescued the BNP's bullet-ridden activists and took them to a private clinic in Pekuta where they were given first aid to the hospital, where they were given first aid by the resident doctor of the Pekuta Upazila Health Complex, he told Samakal that the condition of the five people who were shot was critical and they were sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Pekuta Upazila BNP Joint General Secretary Shahneoz Azad said they were peacefully marching against the election.The police fired at them for no reason.
