After failing to rape, the woman was killed by throat slitting

A woman named Tania Akhter (22) was strangled to death after a failed rape attempt in the Siddhirganj area of Narayanganj city.

The incident took place in Notun Ailpara, Ward No. 8, Siddhirganj on Tuesday (December 14) night. Upon receiving the information, the police recovered the body at night and sent it to the 100-bed Victoria General Hospital morgue in Narayanganj for an autopsy.

The deceased, Tania, was the daughter of Selim Khan of Amtoli area of Barguna district. She lived in a rented house in the same area with her two sisters and worked in people's homes.

Confirming the truth of the incident, Siddhirganj Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Saiful Islam said, "Tania got married in her village. After divorcing her husband, she has been living in a rented house in Ailpara with her two sisters. She was returning home at night after working at someone's house. It is not known who or why she slit her throat at that time."

He said that there were signs that she had been assaulted. It is believed that she was killed by slitting her throat after a failed attempt to rape her. However, the exact cause of death can be known only after the autopsy. An investigation is underway in this regard. Details will be announced later.

He also said that whoever the killer is, he will be found and brought to justice. The process of filing a case is underway.
