The Spanish La Liga 2021-22 season schedule has been finalized. The upcoming season will begin on August 15.
The 20 participating teams are taking to the field on the first day. Barcelona's opponent in the opening match is Real Sociedad. Current champions Atletico Madrid will face Celta Vigo in their first match. And Real Madrid's opponent is Alaves.
The date for El Clasico, the league's most exciting match, has also been finalized.
The two arch-rivals, Real Madrid and Barcelona, will face off in the first El Clasico of the upcoming season on October 24 this year. The two teams will face off in the return leg on March 20 next year.
The schedule for another important match in the league, the Madrid derby, has also been finalized. Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will face off on December 12 of this year. The two teams will then play the return leg on May 8.
