Shakib joins 6,000-run club

Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan has joined the 6,000-run club in competitive T20Is.

Shakib completed 6,000 runs in T20Is by scoring 24 runs off 22 balls against Sri Lanka in a Group B match of the Asia Cup at the Dubai Cricket Stadium on Thursday (September 1). He became the second Bangladeshi cricketer to achieve this feat in T20Is.

Tamim Iqbal is the first to score 6,000 runs in T20Is, with 6,886 runs in 238 matches, including 4 centuries and 44 half-centuries.

And Shakib reached this milestone of 6,060 runs in his 369th match. He has 23 half-centuries with the bat.
