576 shelters prepared in Cox's Bazar to deal with Cyclone Ashini

576 shelters have been prepared in Cox's Bazar district to deal with 'Ashni'. In addition, various preparations have been made before and after the disaster, including evacuating people to safe places, preparing food stocks, providing adequate vehicles if necessary, drinking water, and maintaining law and order.

These decisions were taken at the Cox's Bazar District Disaster Management Committee meeting held today, Tuesday.

Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner Md. Mamunur Rashid presided over the meeting at the Shaheed ATM Zafar Alam meeting room of the Deputy Commissioner's office. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Zahid Iqbal, District Disaster Management and Relief Officer Jahangir Alam, Chamber President Abu Morshed Chowdhury, District Red Crescent Unit Secretary Khorshed Alam, officials from various government departments, journalists, civil society representatives, business representatives and committee members were present in the meeting.

The meeting asked Red Cross workers and volunteers, CPP volunteers, Rover Scouts, Scout members, members of law enforcement agencies, and workers of various village-based social service organizations to be ready to perform their duties.
