Helicopter crashes in Colombia, 9 soldiers killed

It is said that nine Colombian soldiers were killed when a helicopter crashed in the northern Bolivar department on Monday. The country's military is fighting the largest cocaine cartel in the region.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro said on social media X (formerly Twitter) that the helicopter crashed while transporting new troops for an operation against the Gulf Clan.

The crashed helicopter was a Russian-made Mi-17 model. However, neither President Gustavo Petro nor the country's military has said anything about what caused the helicopter to crash. Besides, it was not mentioned whether the Gulf Clan group has any connection with the helicopter crash.
