In the last 24 hours, 212 people have died due to the coronavirus, the highest in the country's history. With this, the death toll in the country has increased to 16,04. Bangladesh has been witnessing more than 100 deaths from coronavirus for the last 13 days. Earlier, the highest number of deaths in the country was 201 on July 7.
This information was given in a notification signed by Additional Director General (Administration) of the Directorate General of Health Services, Professor Dr. Nasima Sultana, on Friday (July 9). The notification said that 11,324 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in the last 24 hours. With this, the number of infected people in the country has increased to 1 million 543.

Although samples of 39,209 people were collected in the last 24 hours, 36,586 samples have been tested. Where the detection rate is 30.95 percent. The total detection rate so far is 14.49 percent. The notification said that 6,038 people have recovered in a day. With this, the number of recovered patients is 8,62,384.
