178 more people die from COVID-19, 6,885 confirmed cases

In the last 24 hours, 178 more people have died, the death toll has reached 23,988.

In a circular signed by Additional Director General (Administration) of the Department of Health, Professor Dr. Nasima Sultana, on Saturday (August 13), the notification said that the coronavirus has been detected in the country for the last 24 hours. The number of detected people is 14 lakh 12 thousand 218 people.

In the last 24 hours, 32 thousand 810 samples were collected, but 33 thousand 330 samples were tested on this day with the previous samples. The detection rate is 20.66 percent, so far the total detection rate is 16.86 percent, the notification said that 7,805 people have recovered in one day, with the number of healthy patients who are 12 lakh 81 thousand 327.

Born-based analysis shows that two people die between 91 and 100 years out of 178 people, 13 people between 81 and 90 years, 32 people between 71 and 80 years, 60 people between 61 and 70 years, 40 people between 51 and 60 years, 13 people between 31 and 40 years, 12 in 31 and 40 years, four in 21 and 30 years, one in 11 and 20 years.

Among the 24 hours, 109 males and 69 women died in the hospital, according to the statistics of the same division, 67 in Dhaka division, 45 in Chittagong division, 14 in Rajshahi division, 23 in Khulna division, 11 in Sylhet division, 11 in Sylhet division, 6 in Rangpur division and 5 in Momonsingh division.

The first three cases of coronavirus were detected in the country on March 8 last year. Ten days later, on March 18, the first person infected with the virus died in the country.
