The notification said that 262 new cases of COVID-19 have been detected in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases so far has reached 1.578 million.
In the last 24 hours, 287 people have recovered from Corona. So far, a total of 1.5 lakh 43 thousand 491 people have recovered.
In the last 24 hours, samples of 21,724 people were collected. 21,496 samples were tested. The detection rate compared to the tests is 1.22 percent.
The first coronavirus infection was detected in the country on March 8 last year. The Department of Health confirmed the first death in the country on March 18 last year, 10 days after the first patient was identified. The highest death toll that year was 64.
The number of patients has been increasing steadily since June this year due to the spread of the Delta variant. On July 28, the highest number of 16,230 people were diagnosed with corona in a single day.
On July 7 of this year, the death toll from COVID-19 in the country exceeded 200 for the first time. Of these, 264 people died on August 5 and 10, which is the highest number of deaths in a single day during the pandemic.
For several days, more than 200 people died. Then, on August 13, the death toll began to drop below 200. After staying above 100 for a long time, deaths dropped below 100 on August 28.
