Fifteen people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours. During this time, the virus has been detected in 14,828 people.
So far, the death toll from COVID-19 in the country has reached 28,238. The total number of confirmed cases is 1,699,964.
This information was given in a press release by the Department of Health on Monday (January 24) regarding the coronavirus.
The notification said that 45,807 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours. The detection rate is 32.37 percent.
It was also mentioned that 998 more people have recovered today. So far, a total of 1.557 million 859 people have recovered.
Of those who died in the past 24 hours, 9 were men and 6 were women. 6 died in Dhaka division. 3 died in Mymensingh division and 2 in Sylhet. In addition, one person died each in Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barisal divisions.
Earlier on Sunday, 14 people died of COVID-19 in the country. During this time, 10,906 new cases were identified.
The government announced the first detection of coronavirus in the country on March 8 last year. Ten days later, on March 18, the first person infected with the virus died in the country.
