Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is setting an example by standing by the endangered humanity during the disaster.
He said this on Wednesday (May 5) morning at 23 Bangabandhu Avenue, organized by Awami League's relief and social welfare sub-committee, to supply oxygen cylinders to various hospitals in the country and to provide food aid to the helpless and poor people. Obaidul Quader joined the program virtually from his official residence.
Obaidul Quader said that a group is shouting against the government, they have no work to do, they could not set an example that they stand by the people in this difficult time of Corona. But Awami League leaders and workers have shown it.
On the instructions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, party leaders, workers and public representatives across the country have stood by the helpless people. But the general secretary of Awami League said that a group sitting in Dhaka is only giving lip service, they are engaging in conspiratorial activities relying on one movement at a time, they are inciting violence even during this crisis of Corona.
Obaidul Quader said that initiatives should be taken to distribute relief items to those who are floating and have no homes and everyone should be given a mask at the time of distribution.
The general secretary of Awami League also emphasized on campaigning to increase awareness among people across the country.
During the lockdown, many people are taking the opportunity to come and go illegally, recently 26 people lost their lives in the speed boat sinking in Padma, Obaidul Quader reminded everyone that the government can be evaded but death cannot be evaded.
