Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is a disease known to many women. It is one of the causes of irregular menstruation and infertility. In this disease there are small cysts around the ovary. It usually occurs in women between the ages of 15 and 45.
Why is: This disease affects women's ovaries and hormone production levels. When the production of male hormones is more than female hormones, the eggs are not fully matured and are deposited in the ovaries in the form of cysts instead of being released through periods. Many cysts accumulate and enlarge the ovary and cause polycystic ovary. Then the period becomes irregular. It also thickens the lining of the uterus. Sometimes abnormal cells grow inside the ovary.
Reason: Hormonal imbalance, i.e. excess androgen production in the body of girls is thought to be the main cause of this disease. Due to heredity, family history of diabetes can lead to this disease. Studies have shown that 70 percent of women with PCOS had pre-diabetes or poor insulin sensitivity. Application of additional chemicals in food, packet or canned food, excess sugar and fatty foods, fast food, soft drinks, insufficient or uncontrolled sleep, less physical activity, stress and mental stress can also cause this disease.
Ovary Symptoms: Symptoms of PCOS are often not understood from the outside. Symptoms usually appear sometime after puberty. However, in many cases, it manifests itself in adulthood. Many people do not pay attention to small signs. When you have problems conceiving, you can go to the doctor. Symptoms are – Sudden weight gain and weight gain, weight gain in upper body and abdomen, irregular periods and various problems, oligomenorrhea (less than 9 periods in a year), amenorrhea etc. Unwanted hair appears on the face, chest, back or other areas like men. Oily skin and excess acne. Black patches are seen on the neck. Somewhere on the scalp, hair grows and becomes bald.
